5 Simple Ways to Conquer Split Ends

Do you wish there was a secret weapon to getting rid of split ends? Are you sick of losing your length to split ends over and over again? Well, I’m here to tell you that you CAN conquer split ends but it will require perseverance. These tips below will tell you all you need to know to conquer split ends once and for all.

1. The first step to conquering split ends is to learn why you got them in the first place. Split ends occur for many reasons typically having to do with what you’re doing to your hair.
For example you colour or perm your hair. This can lead to dryness that can result in split ends. Are you using blow dryers and flat irons regularly? These are other things that can lead to split ends.

2. Now to dispel a myth. Many people accept that they do have split ends but often the question is how to repair them. Well, I’m sorry to disappoint you but you cannot repair split ends. You just can’t. However, go on to #3 and we’ll see if there’s something you can do about those icky split ends.

3. So, if you can’t repair split ends, then what can you do? Well, you can cut them off. But that’s getting a little ahead. What’s the next best thing to cutting off split ends? You can seal them. Sealing split ends is basically gluing the split end back together for a temporary period of time to help with appearance. Remember this is not a permanent fix.

4. To eliminate split ends completely you will need to trim them off. There are several ways to do this. You can get a professional trim or cut to eliminate those nasty splits. Or, if you’re trying to save your length, you can trim off individual split hairs as you see them.

5. The best way to conquer split ends is to prevent them from occurring in the first place! However, this is also the hardest thing to implement. You’ll need to limit your use of heat styling tools and protect your hair from elements such as wind and sun as well as poor hair accessories. Keep your hair from becoming dry.

Conquering split ends takes time and dedication! Once you determine why you are experiencing split ends, you’ll be able to avoid them and eliminate them before the damage increases.

Split ends can be a really unattractive look for hair. Learning how to conquer split ends will help you have the healthy hair that you deserve!

We already have what we need…

I was reading Nicoles blog over at Modern Goddess Online and found a great post.

It talks about how the people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. They are the ones that care.

“Don’t worry about the world coming to an end today. It’s already tomorrow in Australia.” – Charles Schultz

Thanks Nicole. 🙂

Busy?

And I thought I was busy!

Check out this blog entry…….

Successful friends????

Have you ever experienced a really successful period in your life?
Or on the other hand…… not?

Well reading Anne’s blog today rang very true for me and was proof of something I’ve thought for a long time.
Her entry on success talks about how the company you keep can influence your own success in life…

Anne says… “It is interesting to look at your life and find what you like and don’t like about it. Then look at the lives of the people you associate with and you will find remarkably similar situations. Why do we choose to be with these people? Is it a comfort issue? Staying on familiar territory?”

My own experience’s find me agreeing with this and remind me to stick with those people who make me feel good about myself (as opposed to those people that drain the life from you – we’ve all meet those sorts of people)

I’d say being able to sit here typing this with my three year old on my lap screwing up bits of paper and throwing them accross the room (but not trying to touch the keyboard!) is my own little success for the day…. gotta get them where you can! lol

What a great idea!

I don’t know about you but I am what is referred to as a “worrier”.  I worry about getting things done, about spending enough time with my family, about my children (on a per minute basis!) about spending enough time on my business, about whether the car will start or if I’ll be late for work, or late to meet my daughter at the bus stop after school or even how long it has been since I have written in this blog!…. I could go on but you get the idea!

Well after reading Jenny’s post over at Assential Scrapbooking about not worrying so much about things… especially those out of my control I am going to make a concerted effort to just worry less…. it really does take a lot of energy to worry about so many things all the time so this can only help my stress levels…. which seem to sit along the top line of nervous breakdown rather to much! lol

Well here’s hoping I don’t start worrying about whether I’m worrying to much!  Ce la vie….

Wisdom

What a wonderful piece of wisdom over at Business Mums Magazine this week, Melissa put in this wonderful quote….

Even when you think you have your life all mapped out, things happen that shape your destiny in ways you might never have imagined. – Deepak Chopra

And her own words inspired me too – I’m feeling a lot more positive about this year and about Joliv….. stopping the pressure on myself (from myself) is a huge thing I am still working on but amd getting much better at being kind to myself when it counts.

School.

My six year old daughter went into Year one this year and she changed schools… after a terrible year in Kindy at a local school where I just felt like all I did was fight for my daughters right to be educated my husband and I had had enough and decided we had to do something.  We finally decide on a local private school (something I never thought I would do!) and the difference already is amazing – not because it is a private school of course, but because the whole atmosphere is different, for the first time my daughter is actually smiling when we pick her up, last year she was so unhappy and believe me it showed in everything she did, right until the end of the year I couldn’t just take her to school and leave her in the playground, I had to pass her to a teacher while she looked at me with huge sad eyes (heartbreaking).  Not even two weeks into the new school year and this morning we got to school and she saw a friend and immediately told me I could go now, gave me a kiss and off she went….. reading Ingrid’s blog entry over at Heart Harmony just now got me thinking about how quickly they grow up and for the first time since she started school I actually felt happy to leave her there knowing she was safe…. Who knows how I’ll react when Olivia starts High School as Ingrid’s daughter has just done but I think we are heading in the right direction now….. even if it is a year late! lol

Feeling lost…

Over the last few weeks I have been really feeling lost and unsure where to go next and a post by Elena at EP Designs has helped me…..

I have decided to cut back on my Joliv range as I’m just finding it to much work on my own, over the next few weeks you will notice some changes happening on the website but don’t worry as the exceptional products and service will never disappear.

My addictions!

One of my very favourite addictions is jewellery – I think I have mentioned this before! – and Annette Piper allows me to dream… her beautiful creations such as this lovely bracelet just give me a warm feeling…..
